I recently had the honor of being invited to sit down and chat with my friends Eric Odum and Steve Silverman at their Invest Florida real estate podcast show. Eric and Steve launched their informative Florida real estate investment podcast just a few weeks ago, and it’s already a hit, according to iTunes. Apparently the show recently came in as the 27th most popular out of nearly 18,000 new podcasts.
Note this milestone was reached before they asked me to be on the show, so if traffic declines after my appearance… let’s just blame it on the holidays. The guys run a very professional interview and their editor did a great job making my flubs disappear into the background. My greatest contribution to the Invest Florida series may not be the content of my interview, but the fact that I introduced beer into the interview for the first time (not for me – it was to calm the nerves of Steve and Eric, who were worried about what might come out of my mouth). Future interviewees have Darren Wilson to thank for the cold brews.
Seriously, though, it was a pleasure to be invited to talk about Tampa Community Partners as it is something near and dear to my heart. Our residential investment portfolio is a very small slice of the Kennedy Investments investment and management portfolio, but it is an important part of what we have been doing in the past few years. In addition to healthy returns the fund provides, we derive a great deal of pleasure in turning these distressed and abandoned properties into attractive, comfortable homes for members of our community.
My podcast interview, Accidental Landlord Turned Serious Investor went live last night and can be streamed from the Invest Florida website here. For Mobile listeners: iPhone users are welcome to download the rental real estate podcast here, and Android users are recommended to use stitcher to download the real estate investment show episodes.
I hope you enjoy my first podcast. I also hope it isn’t my last, because it was pretty cool to be a part of it.
