Jay Kennedy joined Kennedy Investments in April of 2001. His over twenty years’ experience in commercial real estate ranges from investment brokerage to retail and office development. During his career, he has completed more than $500 million in real estate transactions, executed hundreds of commercial leases, and completed multiple commercial development projects. With experience comes vision, and Jay recognized an opportunity to offer qualified investors the ability to invest alongside Kennedy Investments by participating in managed private equity funds. Jay launched Kennedy Investments’ first private equity fund, KI Florida Fund I, with $10.6 million in equity commitments in January 2017. Alongside qualified co-investors, KI Florida Fund I invested in 14 properties, exited nine, providing investors with returns much greater than the capital markets. Capitalizing on the initial success of KI Florida Fund I, Jay followed with a second fund in July 2019, KI Florida Fund II. KI Florida Fund II launched with over $18.5 million in equity commitments and has invested in 12 properties in which Jay carefully oversees the progress. Jay is currently pursuing the launch of Kennedy Investments Florida Fund III, an open-ended fund focused on value-add and opportunistic commercial properties. Jay is a graduate of Miami University and holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the Richard T. Farmer School of Business. Jay is a licensed real estate broker and active in many professional and non-profit organizations. Jay is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys spending time with family, friends and his three college-aged sons.
